As usual, NCS Colour have assigned a team of color and design experts to forecast interior trends for the coming year. This analysis of color trends looks at how the use of color changes over time and the factors that influence these preferences, and therefore each trend represents the period we are living in, also documenting psychological aspects.

The four 2020 color trends are: Zience, One, Spring Rebels and Zero.

Spring Rebels reflects the desire for freedom, to meet with others, a touch of optimism after a long period of isolation, fear and uncertainty. The key words for this palette are: joy, spring, flowers and freedom.

The tones of this trend are an expression and celebration of happiness and relief. The colors are balanced spring tones, which together recreate the sensation of running through a sunny meadow.

In fact, green is inspired by a field in the sunshine, while the combination of yellow and orange generates a new color, full of light and warmth, capable of bringing interiors to life.

A word from the NCS Colour expert: “This is a group of colours that can and should be used together, even to make bolder patterns. It is the constellation of colours that will give you feeling of spring, freedom and joy. All the colours except the light pink are similar in chromaticness which make them easy to use together. They are complementary to each other which will make them stand out. Together, they form a very vivid and impressive combination!”

The colors in this trend are available in the range of ICA Group coatings for the design of surfaces and materials. They are also included in the ICA Color tintometric system.
