As usual, NCS Colour have assigned a team of color and design experts to forecast interior trends for the coming year. This analysis of color trends looks at how the use of color changes over time and the factors that influence these preferences, and therefore each trend represents the period we are living in, also documenting psychological aspects.
The four 2020 color trends are: Zience, One, Spring Rebels and Zero.
One pays homage to sustainability and the need to be at one with nature. The key words for this palette are: nature, origin, sustainability, folklore and roots.
The colors are neutral, calm and reflect our need to spend time outdoors. The focus on light and natural colors is aligned with the current mood, the discovery of the nature that surrounds us and an awareness of how important it is and its positive impact upon us.
A word from the NCS Colour expert: “These colours have a very clear trend direction of our colour preferences for the coming years. Our preferences are drifting toward lighter and more neutral colours. These are pastels of nature. They represent a mood, driven by urban people who have discovered the beauty and the wonders of our nature. The turquoise gives a healthy contrast, adding a modern feeling of living on the countryside, but with an urban mentality.”
The colors in this trend are available in the range of ICA Group coatings for the design of surfaces and materials. They are also included in the ICA Color tintometric system.
