Unimc & ICA group’s environmental project
On November 7, 2014, ICA Group participated in the conference entitled “China’s Environmental Challenge”, organized by the University of Macerata in partnership with the Istituto Confucio. The conference theme was “The environment and green technologies”. Lorenzo Paniccia (R&D – Water-based UV Products), Barbara Menatta and Francesco Finocchi (ICA doctoral candidates) gave speeches on the company’s behalf to describe ICA’s direct experience in this regard.
The meeting brought together engineers, legal experts and economists to discuss the matter of pollution in China, which has now reached unsustainable levels due to the country’s uncontrolled economic development over the past 30 years.
The increased awareness – on the part of both China’s ruling élite and its consumers – of the collateral damage caused by pollution is opening up major business opportunities for European companies operating in green sectors.
Through the European Poreen project, the University of Macerata is at the forefront of analyzing the mutual opportunities on offer in the green economy for Europe and China.
The conference also saw the presentation of a case study entitled “ICA Group: Green Strategy in China”, which described the company’s recent entry into the Chinese market. The group has been engaging with the Chinese market since 2013 through ICA China, which offers a product range with excellent green credentials that are constantly being enhanced.
