Parquet floor coatings: production of parquet floor coatings and treatment

The following table shows the results of the laboratory tests we performed on surfaces treated with UV cycles for pre-finished parquet floors, in comparison with surfaces treated with solvent-based bicomponent polyurethane coatings for traditional parquet floors.

The results of the UV cycles are for the most comparable (and, in certain cases, even superior) to those achieved with polyurethane cycles.

The most important of the tests is that for abrasion resistance. This test simulates the typical wear and tear on a coated parquet floor and was carried out using a Taber abrasimeter with CS-17 abrasion wheels, loaded with 1 kg weights for every 1000 revolutions.

The data in the table refers to the weight loss expressed in milligrams: UV cycles give better results than polyurethane cycles, particularly when treated with our special scratch-resistant top coat, which – thanks to its special formulation – gives first-class results.
